6,000 international scientists will be coming together in the Congress Center, Forum and Hall 5 between 24 and 27 March 2019.
Messe Frankfurt is to play host to the annual convention of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBTM). The two Frankfurt congress ambassadors – Prof. Thomas Klingebiel and Prof. Peter Bader, both from the Clinic for Paediatric and Adolescent Medicine, Frankfurt University Hospital – were instrumental in bringing the rotating European congress to Frankfurt.
Prof. Klingebiel explains which factors tipped the balance in favour of Messe Frankfurt and its congress locations.
1. Frankfurt – city of science
“One major factor that helped us to bring this congress to Frankfurt was without a doubt that it is a city of science. As well as Goethe University Frankfurt and the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, the city is home to many research institutes of international repute – at the same time, Frankfurt plays host to many major international trade fairs. It was therefore an obvious choice to combine the city’s outstanding scientific and trade fair expertise and to hold a major international scientific congress in Frankfurt. Another important location factor is the outstanding partnership between the City of Frankfurt and Messe Frankfurt and the commitment and professionalism of their respective teams.”
2. Wide range of hotels and fast accessibility
“The exhibition grounds are ideal for such an international congress: thanks to their central location, it is possible to reach the city centre on foot. At the same time, Messe Frankfurt’s locations are surrounded by many hotels of all categories and are extremely accessible by both road and rail. Located within walking distance, Frankfurt Central Station provides fast connections to all European cities, while Frankfurt Airport can be reached in less than half an hour by public transport or taxi.”
3. Messe Frankfurt – the perfect location and an outstanding team
“In addition, Messe Frankfurt offers an excellent technical framework and the high degree of flexibility necessary for meeting the needs of a scientific congress which, as well as featuring lecture events, must also accommodate poster and industrial presentations. It should also be noted that all services – including catering – are provided from a single source. When dealing with Messe Frankfurt’s team, it is evident that they want the very best for your congress and that they deliver nothing less.”
